A poem about reinvention
Updated: Sep 9

Before we become
There comes a moment in every life
when the map no longer matches the terrain.
The path that once felt certain
grows unfamiliar, beneath our feet.
A door closes.
A dream dissolves.
A relationship shifts.
A loss arrives, uninvited.
And suddenly, we stand at the edge
of who we have always been
and of who we might yet become.
We do not arrive fully formed.
We are shaped by stories,
by love and fear,
by the families that raise us,
and the hopes that call us forward.
Some people bend.
Some break.
Some rebuild.
Some experience all of those things,
all at once.
Again and again,
through hardships and healing,
through endings and beginnings,
we are offered an invitation:
to remain as we are,
or
to reinvent.
This blog and my writing was born from a question,
that has followed me throughout my life.
What does it take for one person to rise from adversity,
to transform pain into purpose, or to challenge the status quo,
to step toward a different future?
These writings and stories are not going to be about perfection.
They are about possibility.
About reinvention and about the quiet power that lives within all of us.
I would love to hear your perspective on how this poem made you feel in the comments section below.
